Is the flame retardant used for flame-retardant artificial plants environmentally friendly? Which standards does it comply with?

With the increasing global awareness of safety and environmental protection, people have higher and higher requirements for fire safety and the flame retardancy of products. Environmentally friendly flame retardants that are halogen-free, produce low smoke, and are low in toxicity have become the goal that people pursue. The so-called environmentally friendly flame retardants generally refer to those that do not contain ingredients harmful to humans and the environment. Common standards include RoHS and REACH. Generally, the flame retardants for environmentally friendly artificial plants meet at least one of these standards.

RoHS is a mandatory standard formulated by EU legislation. Its full name is the "Restriction of Hazardous Substances" directive, which restricts the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. The purpose of this standard is to eliminate six substances in electrical and electronic products, namely lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs), and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (Note: The correct Chinese name for PBDE refers to polybrominated diphenyl ethers, and the term "polybrominated diphenyl ethers" is incorrect). It also specifically stipulates that the content of cadmium should not exceed 0.01%.

 REACH is the abbreviation for "Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals". The REACH directive is a regulation of the European Union for the preventive management of all chemicals entering its market. Therefore, all daily-use products produced in the European Union or imported into the EU market, mainly referring to textiles, must go through the registration, inspection, and approval of the content of hazardous chemicals. Once the content exceeds the specified limit, they are not allowed to be sold in the EU market.
