Product Introduction:
It is a phosphorus-nitrogen triazine-based intumescent halogen-free flame retardant for polyolefins, which is applied to various flame-retardant polypropylene and polyethylene products, and can also be used for the flame retardancy of other polyolefins. It achieves the flame-retardant effect through the mechanisms of gas source, char formation, dilution, and shielding of the oxygen in the air.
The polypropylene products flame-retarded by this halogen-free flame retardant can reach the UL94-V0 (0.8-3.2mm), 5VA flame-retardant grades and pass the Glow Wire Ignitability Test (GWIT) at 850℃. Moreover, it is not restricted by the Directive 2002/95/EC of the European Union and its Council on the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment. It has the characteristics of low smoke generation, excellent cost-performance ratio, etc.
When this halogen-free flame retardant is applied in the extrusion process of polypropylene, there is no water slippage phenomenon.
When using this halogen-free flame retardant to flame-retard polyolefins, reinforcing materials such as glass fiber, talcum powder, barium sulfate, and fumed silica can be added without causing color change.
Advantages:
This halogen-free flame retardant has excellent migration resistance and exudation resistance, does not bloom, and the processing temperature can reach as high as 270℃, meeting the processing temperature requirements of polymers. It is suitable for polypropylene and polyethylene.

四、IV. Processing Precautions of the PP Flame Retardant:
(1) Adjustment of the extrusion process: Firstly, the decomposition temperature of this halogen-free flame retardant is approximately 270°C. Therefore, the processing temperature of the twin-screw extruder should not be too high. Secondly, maintaining a certain degree of vacuum during the extrusion process can make the discharge effect of polypropylene more stable.
(2) Select appropriate polypropylene raw materials according to the different requirements of flame-retardant products. The main indicator is the Melt Flow Rate (MFR) to facilitate extrusion processing and injection molding.
(3) There should be no substances that have an adverse effect on flame retardancy in the designed formulation system. For example, Cl⁻-containing color powders such as phthalocyanine green will lead to the failure of flame retardancy. Adding carbon black, titanium dioxide, and inorganic fillers (such as glass fiber, talcum powder, barium sulfate, etc.) will affect the flame-retardant efficiency, and the dosage of the flame retardant should be adjusted appropriately.
(4) This halogen-free flame retardant does not contain anti-dripping agents. To meet the requirements of different customers, anti-dripping additives should be selected and added during the formulation process.
V. Packaging and Storage of the PP Flame Retardant
The net weight of each package is 25 kg. It is packed in a paper-plastic composite bag with a polyethylene plastic inner lining and transported as a general chemical.
Store it in a sealed manner in a dry and cool place, and avoid direct sunlight.
