凝聚相阻燃剂理高温下阻燃剂在聚合物外表构成凝聚相,隔绝了空气,阻止热传递、下降可燃性气体释放量,然后到达阻燃意图。构成凝集相阻隔膜的方法有两种:一是阻燃剂在焚烧温度下分化成不蒸腾的玻璃状物质,包覆在聚合物外表,这种细密的维护层起到了阻隔膜的效果,如硼系和卤化磷类阻燃剂具有相似特征;
二是使用阻燃剂的热降解产品促进聚合物外表敏捷脱水碳化,构成碳化层,使用单质炭不发生火焰的蒸腾焚烧和分化焚烧,到达阻燃维护的效果如含磷阻燃剂对含氧聚合物的阻燃效果。
自由基捕获机理在聚合物焚烧过程中,很多生成的游离基促进气相焚烧反响,如能设法捕获并消除这些游离基,切断自由基链锁反响,就可以操控焚烧,进而到达阻燃的意图。卤系阻燃剂的阻燃机理就属此类。
