The market for flame-retardant rattan strips is getting larger and larger, and there are also more and more enterprises producing plastic rattan strips. So, what are the requirements for the flame-retardant grades of simulated plants? There are mainly the following two.
The building materials standard refers to "GB 8624:2006: Classification of the Burning Performance of Building Materials and Products", which divides flame retardancy into seven grades: A1, A2, B, C, D, E, and F. Grade B flame retardancy is equivalent to Grade B1 in the previous standard, that is, the flame-retardant grade. Grade B flame retardancy requires that, under the condition of meeting GB/T 20284, the combustion growth rate index ≤ 120 W/s, and the total heat release within 600s ≤ 7.5MJ.
The UL94 grade is the most widely applied standard for the combustibility of plastic materials. The plastic flame-retardant grades increase successively from HB, V-2, V-1 to V-0.
At the present stage, the state has not clearly defined the flame-retardant reference standard for plastic rattan strips. The UL94 flame-retardant standard for plastic products can be adopted:
HB: The lowest flame-retardant grade in the UL94 standard. For samples with a thickness of 3 to 13 mm, the burning rate should be less than 40 mm per minute; for samples with a thickness of less than 3 mm, the burning rate should be less than 70 mm per minute; or the sample should extinguish before the 100-mm mark.
V-2: After two 10-second combustion tests on the sample, the flame extinguishes within 30 seconds. It can ignite the absorbent cotton 30 cm below.
V-1: After two 10-second combustion tests on the sample, the flame extinguishes within 30 seconds. It cannot ignite the absorbent cotton 30 cm below.
V-0: After two 10-second combustion tests on the sample, the flame extinguishes within 10 seconds. There should be no burning substances falling off.
Hangzhou Hafu suggests that manufacturers should give priority to the UL94 flame-retardant standard when making a choice.
